Dog Walker Laurencekirk

AW Pet Care & Dog Walking, Laurencekirk

Dog walker Laurencekirk

Thank you for taking the time to look around. I'm Anne, owner of AW Pet Care & Dog Walking, I provide a personal dog walking and small pet care service covering Laurencekirk and the surrounding area.

My aim is to provide a professional, kind, reliable service to ensure that you have peace of mind that your dog is being taken care of in the best possible way while you are out or away.

I am a very proud founder member of the Professional Dog Walkers Association (PDWA), member of The Pet Professional Guild British Isles, hold business and transport insurances, Disclosure Scotland validated, Dog First Aider and hold Certificates of qualifications in Dog Walking, Canine Behaviour and Animal Care. All documents are available to inspect.

My dog walking, home visit and small pet care service is based in and around the Laurencekirk area, covering Marykirk, Fettercairn, Auchenblae and all the areas in between.

The benefits of using a dog walker:

  • Dogs need regular exercise to maintain a balanced healthy life, both physically and mentally.

  • Dogs are (usually!) sociable animals who enjoy the company of others, doggy or human.

  • Helps to break up your dog's day, relieving boredom. As well the obvious toilet break, a walk can provide stimulation.

  • You get peace of mind that your pup is being taken care of in the best possible way while you are out or even whilst working from home!

About this service:

Your dog is collected from your home and either walked locally or taken for a short, safe drive in individual crates in the PAW Mobile to a designated dog walking area.

Walks are either on or off the lead if safe to do so, if I have your permission and if he/she has a good recall. The walks last for the agreed duration then returned home for a good dry (if needed), well earnt drink, a treat or two and maybe a nap until you return!

The van even carries a portable shower so any Mud Magnets can also get a quick rinse down before going home if they need it.

Each walk is fun, interesting, structured and active, taking place either in your local area, nearby forest, park or beach including enrichment activities. Each designated walk area is risk assessed to cater for your dog’s specific needs, making our walks appropriate and safe for all.

Walking areas include, but not limited to: Denlethen Woods, Drumtochty South / Finella Hill, Drumtochty North, St Cyrus Beach and local parks. I try to fit in as many locations as possible in a week, even venturing further afield occasionally; ofcourse time, weather and other conditions permitting!

Individual Dog Walks (also called one to one or solo dog walks)

My walks are usually individual dog walks, or same household if you have a more than one - nobody else's dog, just yours for very special attention!

Our walks are intersting and fun. I incorporate enrichment activities and also can practice any training homework such as recall and loose lead walking just to help keep those good manners topped up.

Reactive dogs are walked on an individual basis as above and on the lead.

Group Walks

Group walks are by invitation only - if I think a group walk would be beneficial to your dog and if i think they would fit in to an existing group.

Groups are kept small, usually 2/3 dogs (up to 4) at any one time and comprise dogs of similar capabilities, fitness level and size.

Group walks are kept small for safety, control and fun. Smaller groups allow the dogs to socialise whilst allowing me to keep a very close eye on them all.

Each dog must be very well behaved, sociable and have an excellent recall. Your dog will undergo an assessment with, perhaps several. initial, individual walk/s followed by a trial, introductory period to ensure that they fit in well with the group.

Further details will be clarified at our initial meet.

I only do one daily group walk, usually picking up early/mid afternoon.

Please note: Availability for group walks is limited and by invitation only.

A group walk doesn't suit every dog so I can also walk your dog on an individual basis as above.

Females in season will not be walked; home visits only or if you don't have a garden, very local short walks will be arranged instead.

Home visit service:

Ideal for puppies, elderly dogs who might not need quite as much exercise as they once did while you are out. I call in, check on them, let them outside to toilet, give oral medication, feed, .. and ofcourse, play with them, I include lots of enrichment and can practice your basic training techniques. I am not a dog trainer, but am happy to work with you, under your own trainer guidance.

I use kind methodology and equipment only.
